Caulescent plants. Stem 0.15–0.40 m long, pendulous, branching from base; with persistent dried leaves. Leaves laxly rosulate, spreading to much recurved, green, with transversely arranged whitish spots, texture rough, deltoid-lanceolate, attenuate, 5–8 cm long, 2–3 cm wide; margin with spreading crowded curved firm whitish teeth, 2–4 mm long, ± 5 mm apart. Inflorescence 0.1–0.2 m long, pendulous or arcuate-ascending, simple. Racemes cylindrical, 4–6 cm long, 4.5 cm wide, erect, rather lax. Floral bracts 5–6 mm long, 2 mm wide. Pedicels 7–10 mm long. Flowers: perianth red, 23–25 mm long, 5 mm across ovary, slightly narrowed above ovary, slightly widening towards mouth, cylindric; outer segments free for 5–6 mm; stamens and style exserted 1–2 mm. Fruit a capsule.
